Dear Shelter,
With 342 organizations now licensed, the PetPoint Shelter Management Software is now the fastest growing software program available to animal welfare organizations. Not only is PetPoint intuitive and easy to use, the level of technical support and ongoing product development is unsurpassed.
As we announced several months ago, the beta testing process for the new Humane Law Enforcement module is now nearing completion with the final product being completed at the end of this month.
The new Animal Transfer Module, now in development, is scheduled for release on August 7th. This new module will allow organizations using PetPoint to transfer animals easily without redundant data entry or the use of cumbersome paper forms. In addition, we’ve designed it to better fit animal shelter operations by adding the following features:
- Like the rest of PetPoint, the Animal Transfer module will feature “Wizard Style” data entry screens. This method helps ensure complete data entry, is more user-friendly and intuitive and allows automatic completion of the animal description, animal profile and microchip data fields.
- In order to facilitate the accurate tracking of animals moving from an “originating” shelter to a “recipient” shelter, a “Transfer Reference Number” will be created for each animal transferred. For the recipient shelter, this number will be identical to the PetPoint Animal Number created by the originating shelter, thereby allowing accurate traceback.
- The Animal Transfer module will feature a “Transfer Acceptance” process that will allow the recipient shelter the ability to view animals that the originating shelter have designated for transfer. The animal’s breed, age, gender, sterilization status and other specifics can be viewed and reviewed to allow the recipient shelter the ability to accept or decline each transfer. This is important in cases where the recipient shelter has health management protocols in place or has space limitations.
- The originating shelter will also be given the ability to cancel or “pull back” animals it originally marked for pending transfer or that have been declined by the recipient shelter.
- The “Transfer History Report” will provide the recipient shelter the ability to view medical, behavior and tag information from the originating shelter. This will allow the recipient shelter the ability to make well-informed decisions in both accepting transferred animals and in performing accurate adoptability assessments.
PetPoint is a web-based software program designed specifically for animal welfare organizations. The program is provided free to those organizations participating in both the ShelterCare Gift insurance and 24PetWatch Microchip Recovery programs.
